"It's refreshing as hell to hear something that hasn't been done before, something new and innovative, in an era of repetition, replication, and imitation. Enter, stage left, the strange and exciting sounds of Honeytone Cody. With a sound unlike anything you have heard before, constantly shifting style and genre seamlessly, they are, in their own words "One of the most unpredictable bands around." Damn straight."
"In all honesty, Honeytone Cody are the kind of unique, intriguing act that deserves an audience far beyond the city walls of York. By arming themselves with songs as good as this, there’s every chance 2012 could be a breakout year for them – and if there’s any justice, it’ll be theirs for the taking."

"An immaculate vocal sound cuts over fuzzy guitars and insistent drums, underpinned by a really great bass sound.  Holly the Cat Has Gone To A New Home should deserve a mention for the fantastic name alone, but again I would defy anyone to find a better bass sound than you can hear on this.  This time a bright and tingly acoustic guitar sound carries the track over a sparse drumbeat, complemented by a truly beautiful vocal line.  Elle’s voice is gorgeous without being overly innocent or sweet – she sounds like she has lived an interesting life.  And that is how I picture this band – a soundtrack to an interesting life."

"Honeytone Cody up the stakes further with a show of the kind of standard that many bands could only dream of. Mean, moody and as tight as hell, they deliver their set of heavily rhythmic, bass-driven art rock with a cool nonchalance. Dark - as in dramatic, rather than depressing - and at times positively explosive, the music is never less than captivating, and the forthcoming EP can't come soon enough."
